Katie’s Way offers psychology and therapy to people ages 2 to 26 years old.  Our providers work closely with the patient and their family relying on a team-based approach to assessment and treatment. This may include a psychiatrist, a team of psychologists, and patient care coordinators working together to best help. Katie’s Way provides a confidential and welcoming setting in a safe homelike environment.

Out-patient Mental Health Services

The flexibility of outpatient care allows patients to attend treatment services during the day and return home to be with family or friends in the evenings. Unlike inpatient care, individuals in outpatient programs do not have a secure environment to isolate them from negative or triggering factors. Therefore, patients in treatment for substance abuse disorders must voluntarily abstain from drug or alcohol use when they return home each day.

Individual Therapy

A trained therapist can help you make lifestyle changes. They can also help identify underlying causes of symptoms and provide strategies for changing unwanted thoughts and behaviors. Therapy can help equip you with the skills to manage symptoms, reduce stress, and improve your quality of life.

Psychological Testing

Including autism testing.

When a child is having behavioral, social, or academic problems, it may be due to a learning disorder, attention deficit, or even an emotional problem, such as anxiety or depression. Specific types of psychological tests can help a psychologist rule out some conditions while honing in on an accurate diagnosis.

Diagnostic Assessment

Everyone goes through tough times. But sometimes, the negative way someone feels inside -- depressed, anxious, wanting to avoid people, having trouble thinking -- may be more than the ups and downs most people feel now and then. If symptoms like these start to get in the way of your life, or that of a loved one, it’s important to take action. Research shows that getting help early can prevent symptoms from getting worse and make a full recovery more likely.

Family and Group Therapy

Group and family therapy typically rest on the dynamic interaction of the members of the group. The emphasis is on helping participants understand their projection toward other members while learning from the feedback they receive from others, including the therapist.

Medication Consultation, Assessment and Treatment

Our physicians/nurse practitioners are available to provide evaluation and psycho-pharmacological treatment when medication is a treatment option being considered. However, our clinicians sometimes require patients to be receiving ongoing psychotherapy with a licensed mental health provider.
